The Easy Ones…
I personally don’t find that I run into many easy photoshoots, and that’s not for a lack of trying but as I’ve said it before; things take time. While this one wasn’t any leap or bound easier than any previous shoot I had one element going for me that a lot of people often forget. Memory.

(Canon 5D Mark II, 200ISO, Canon EF100mmF2.8Macro, 1/40th@F6.3. Single Canon 580EX above and behind the filet set to 1/8th power shot through a 16″ Fotorosa Softbox fired by Pocket Wizard Plus II Transiever. Second 580EX superclamped to a chair gelled with a Rosco CTO 85 shot through a 60″ Wescott Translucent Disk.)
What do I mean by memory? The guy remembered me. Well, let me take that back actually he remembered an Ad I shot the last time that I came to see him. When I walked in, he had the advertisement in his hands to show me what he liked, as well as wanted to duplicate. Imagine his surprise when I not only told him which booth it was shot in, but that I was the one that had shot it. I’d post it here, but unfortunately at the newspaper we work under the backup system named DVD’s to which it would take me more hours to find the image than just to apologize about not having it.
It doesn’t often happen that way though. It was especially good as apparently he had been involved in a billing issue here at the paper and wasn’t in a good mood to start, but it was all quickly changed once we got started as things really seemed to be going his way.

I was pleased with the photos, and so was he. Took about 3 hours and about 500 photos to get everything the way he wanted it, and it was no trouble at all to stay and hang out since things look so nice. The orange light created the ambiance hew as looking for, and the food…. the food just looked spectacular. Glad I had the snack before I went in at 11, otherwise it would have been a LONG shoot. Only made that mistake about 100 times….
Speaking of mistakes, we forgot to activate the RSS feed on the new blog/website…. Shannon and I both totally spaced it, but it’s fixed now thanks to a note from my friend Matt. It’s now posted on the homepage, the blog page, and a few other places if you’d like to find it. Click it. RSS… it…. Bookmark it? Not gunna lie, I’m personally not even sure how it works but a lot of people use it. (Honestly though, I think it’s just like this whole internet thing: Just a Fad.) More soon.
