Keep an eye out…

Been a minute since I’ve posted anything and thought I’d quickly share this shot of Shannon’s Eye.  She was inspired by this guy named Suren Manvelyan with his post here on beautiful eyes, wanting to know what her eye looked like.  Without knowing how he made the photos, Shannon and I set out to try it.  After about 15 minutes of photography with a Single Nikon Speedlight at a quarter power, we decided more investigation was necessary, but not tonight.  Look out for more things like this in the future though, as I’m still a bit baffled as to how it was done, and am curious as to how different peoples eyes could actually be…  Did he only shoot 100 eyes to get those? or has he shot thousands??  More Soon.

(Nikon D3s, 400ISO, Nikon 105F2.8VR Macro, 1/200th@F20.  Single SB900 zoomed to 200mm set t0 1/4 power aimed at Shannon’s eye to give the harshest light possible for creating the ridges in her eye, as well as providing a quick enough recycle to make sure that her pupil was contracted for a few frames as opposed to dilated.  Speedlight triggered by a Nikon SU-800 on the cameras hot shoe.)
